Waarom is luchtvochtigheid belangrijk voor jouw wijnkelder?

Why is humidity crucial for your wine cellar?

Want to preserve your precious wines for years to come? Then creating the perfect storage environment is a must. A proper wine cellar meets several key criteria: no vibrations, no odors, complete darkness, a stable temperature, and ideal humidity levels.

The optimal storage temperature is around 12°C and should remain consistent. Too low, and the aging process slows down; too high, and it speeds up. Both can negatively impact the quality of your wine.

Equally important is relative humidity, which should ideally be between 60% and 75% for a wine cellar. If the humidity is too low, corks can dry out and shrink, allowing air to seep into the bottle. This can lead to oxidation, severely affecting the taste and quality of your wines. A real shame, especially for a valuable collection!

How can you measure humidity? With a hygrometer! If the humidity is too low, a high-quality humidifier can restore the balance in your wine cellar and protect your bottles. Explore our extensive range of humidity control solutions.
